David Bojanini

David Bojanini García - Chief Executive Officer

David Bojanini García joined us in 2006 and currently serves as our Chief Executive Officer. Prior to assuming this position, he served as the Assistant Actuarial Manager of Colseguros S.A. from 1979 to 1980, the Assistant Actuarial Manager of Suramericana de Seguros S.A. from 1980 to 1984, and the Actuarial Manager of Suramericana de Seguros S.A. from 1984 to 1991. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of Administradora de Fondos de Pensiones y Cesantías Protección from 1991 to 2006. He currently sits on the Boards of Directors of Suramericana, Bancolombia, Chocolates, and Inversiones Argos. He also sits on the National Board of Directors of the Private Council for Competitiveness. Mr. Bojanini is also a member of CEAL, the Board of Trustees of the Suramericana Foundation, the Empresarios por la Educación Foundation (Businessmen for Education Foundation), El Cinco Foundation, and Mi Sangre Foundation. Mr. Bojanini holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes, and a Master’s degree in Business Studies from the University of Michigan.

Ignacio Calle Cuartas

Ignacio Calle Cuartas - Chief Financial Officer

Ignacio Calle joined Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana in 1996 for 10 years, during this time, he stood out as Investment and Financial Managing Director among other positions. He rejoined the GRUPO SURA in 2012 and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he worked in France for Groupe Casino as M&A Vice-president for Latin America and International Financial Director for the Asian, Indian Ocean and Latin American affiliates. He is also the founding partner of Takticon a financial advisory firm in Colombia.

Ignacio Calle has 16 years of experience in financial structuring and capital market deals. He holds a degree in Production Engineer and an Economy & Finance Magister at State University of New York (Fulbright Alumni). He is also member of the Board of Directors of: AFP Integra (Private Pension Fund - Peru), Suramericana S.A., AFP Protección (Private Pension Fund - Colombia) and Compañía Nacional de Chocolates (Food Processing - Colombia)

Mario López

Mario López López - Chief Audit Officer

Mario López López joined us in 2007 and currently serves as our Chief Audit Officer. Prior to assuming this position, he held the position of Accountant, Treasurer, and Operations Director of Corporación Financiera Suramericana S.A. from 1979 to 1990. He also held positions as Tax and Accounting Advisor of Subleasing S.A. from 1981 to 1992, Administrative and Financial Manager of Sufiducia S.A. from 1990 to 1995, and Operating and Finance Manager of Susalud S.A. from 1992 to 2007. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Poblado Country Club S.A. in Medellin. Mr. López graduated as a Public Accountant from the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellin and holds a specialization in Economic Policy from the Universidad de Antioquia.

Fernando Ojalvo

Fernando Ojalvo Prieto - Chief Administrative Officer and General Secretary

Fernando Ojalvo Prieto joined us in 1999 and currently serves as our Chief Administrative Officer and Secretary. Prior to assuming this position, he held posts as Chief of Staff of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 1978 to 1979, Internal Auditor of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 1979 to 1980, National Director of Personnel of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 1980 to 1983, and Antioquia Deputy Manager of the Instituto de Seguros Sociales (Social Security Institute) from 1983 to 1985. He was also the Manager of Administradora de Fondos de Inversión Suramericana S.A. from 1990 to 1992 and head of the Legal Department and Company Secretary of Compañía Suramericana de Seguros S.A. from 1988 to 1996. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Protección and EPS Sura. He also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Suramericana Foundation, Biblioteca Pública Piloto, a public library in Medellin for Latin America, the Excellence in Justice Corporation, the Empresarios por la Educación Foundation (Businessmen for Education Foundation), the Dividendo por Colombia Foundation, the French Study Exchange Foundation, and the Botanical Garden in Medellin. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Uniminuto and the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. Mr. Ojalvo holds a degree in law from the Universidad de Medellin and a specialization in Labor Law from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.

José Alberto Vélez

José Alberto Vélez Cadavid - Chairman of the Board of Directors

Holding a degree in Administrative Engineering from the Universidad Nacional as well as a Master of Science degree in Engineering from University of California (UCLA) in the United States, he was an alderman on the Medellin City Council and Assistant to the Governor of the Department of Antioquia. He was also the Chief Executive Officer of Inversura and is currently Chief Executive Officer of Inversiones Argos and Cementos Argos.

He sits on the Board of Directors of Bancolombia, Grupo Nacional de Chocolates and Calcetines Crystal. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Proantioquia, Codesarrollo, the Suramericana Foundation, the Fraternidad Medellín Foundation and the Privy Council for Competitiveness in Colombia. He is also Chairman of Consejo Empresarial Colombiano para el Desarrollo Sostenible –CECODES (Colombian Business Council for Sustainable Development) and member of the Americas´ Society - Council of The Americas, based in New York.

Carlos Enrique Piedrahita Arocha

Carlos Enrique Piedrahita Arocha - Member of the Board of Directors

Holding a degree in Economics from the University of Keele in the United Kingdom and a Masters degree in Finance from the London School of Economics, he was also Chief Executive Officer of Corfinsura and the Compañía Nacional de Chocolates. He is currently Chairman of the Grupo Nacional de Chocolates.

He also sits on the Board of Directors of Inversiones Argos and Bancolombia, and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Fedesarrollo, Privy Council for Competitiveness, Proantioquia, Consejo Empresarial de América Latina – CEAL (Business Council for Latin America, the Education Committee of the Antioquia Chapter of the Fundación Empresarios por la Educación as well as the San Vicente de Paúl hospital.

Juan Guillermo Londoño Posada

Juan Guillermo Londoño Posada - Member of the Board of Directors

Holding a degree in Business Administration from the Universidad EAFIT, he was General Manager of Ramón H. Londoño and subsequently Chief Executive Officer of Coninsa & Ramón H.. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Compañía Colombiana de Inversiones.

He also sits on the Board of Directors of Termoflores and Urbanizadora Santafé de Bogotá - Urbansa and forms part of the Board of Directors of ACOLGEN, ANDESCO, Fondo Social de la ANDI (Colombian Association of Industrialists), Corporación San Pablo - Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe, Consejo de Asuntos Económicos de la Arquidiócesis de Medellín, Fundación Francisco y Clara de Asís, and Fundación Colinversiones. He is also invited to attend the board meetings of Meriléctrica, Generar and Hidromontañitas.

Jorge Mario Velásquez Jaramillo

Jorge Mario Velásquez Jaramillo - Member of the Board of Directors

Holding a degree in Civil Engineering from the Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia, specializing in Industrial Operations through the British Council program in the United Kingdom, he has also attended the CEOs’ Management Program at the Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and studied logistics at Standford University and at the Universidad de los Andes. He was also General Manager of Cementos del Nare and Chief Executive Officer of Cementos Paz del Río. He is currently the Vice-President of Logistics at Cementos Argos.

He also sits on the Board of Directors of Ready Mix Concrete Inc., Southern Star Concrete, Tasco Inc. and Cementos Panama.

Hernando Yepes Arcila

Hernando Yepes Arcila - Member of the Board of Directors

Holding a degree in law from the Universidad de Caldas. General Secretary of the Universidad de Caldas from 1965 to 1968; General Secretary of the Governance of department of Caldas from 1971 to 1972; Manager of the Central Hydroelectric Caldas from 1983 to 1986. He has also been a magistrate with the Constitutional Division of the Colombian Supreme Court of Justice, a magistrate with the Administrative Division of the Supreme Judiciary Council, Delegate Member of the National Constituent Assembly of 1991 from 1990 (period lifetime).

Chief Legal Officer of the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia (the Colombian Federation of Coffee-Growers) from 1996 to 1998 and the Colombian Minister of Labor and Social Security from 1998 to 1999. He is currently Head of the Department of Public Law and a teacher at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana; an associate judge of the State Council, an arbiter with the Center of Arbitration and Conciliation attached to the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce as well as an attorney-at-law.

Armando Montenegro

Armando Montenegro - Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Montenegro holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Javeriana University, obtained a Master in Economy and Latinamerican studies from the Ohio University and a Ph.D in Economy from New York university.

Between 1990 and 1994 was Head of the National Planning Department. Alternate Executive Director of the World Bank between 1994 and the end of 1995. From 1996 to 2001 he was the Head of ANIF (National Association of Financial Institutions). Manager Director of Rothschild in Colombia, 2001 – 2004. Since then he is partner and Managing Director of Agora, an investment bank.

He has published several books and articles, was member of several board of directors (Ecopetrol, Grupo Aval, Grupo Éxito among others). Columnist of El Espectador (a Colombian newspaper)

Jaime Bermúdez

Jaime Bermúdez Merizalde - Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Bermúdez holds a degree in law from the Universidad de los Andes and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Oxford University. He was an associate attorney of Guillén & Bermúdez Asociados from 1990 to 1991, legal advisor to the Colombian President’s office from 1991 to 1993, advisor to the Colombian Ministry of For President’s office from 2003 to 2006, Colombian Ambassador to Argentina from 2006 to 2008, and Foreign Affairs Minister from 2008 to 2010. He is currently President of the Investment Bank MBA Lazard Colombia.

The Company’s Board of Directors is made up of a team of professionals amply recognized for their experience, integrity and outstanding personal and moral qualities. There are seven principal members, three of whom have an independent status.
